Determinist
Determinist historians believe that Hitler's rise to power was inevitable, due to Germany's history of having strong leaders and the lack of democratic traditions. Notable historians include AJP Taylor, William Shirer, and Hans-Ulrich Wehler.
Structuralist
Structuralist historians believe that Hitler was brought to power by a series of historical events (e.g. WWI), and that the Germans were looking for a savior. Notable historians include Ian Kershaw and E Anderson.
Intentionalist
Intentionalist historians believe Hitler knowingly manipulated the masses, and was helped to power by dumb luck. Notable historians include Alan Bullock.
